About the event

Join us for this fun and relaxing afternoon by starting with a gentle Hatha yoga class with yours truly. After our tea break, enjoy a therapeutic Mandala watercolor painting and zen doodling workshop from Miss Bee Canvas led by Melissa.

What is a Mandala?

The word “mandala” itself means "circle.” Mandalas arose in Indian and Himalayan religious traditions as artistic ways of representing the spiritual universe. Modern mandalas we see in coloring books or contemporary artwork are used to reduce stress, connect with oneself, and appreciate forms of beauty in the world.

In this workshop, we will create mandalas using watercolor paint and zen-doodle techniques. In art making, we will aim to discover these beautiful benefits of mindfulness and calm. No art skills are necessary, just an open heart and mind to what this creative experience may offer you.

What to bring

  • Yoga mat
  • Water bottle

Water, herbal tea, and art supplies are included.

About Melissa

When the pandemic started, Melissa joined every online paint party she could find. She found comfort, relaxation, and joy in every paintbrush stroke. This ignited her passion since childhood, and she decided to complete a Therapeutic Art Practitioner Program with CiiAT. A year later, Melissa has had tremendous opportunities to create with many wonderful people and discovered that a Sharpie marker and Zen doodle techniques provide incredible mind and body outcomes. She wishes to share these experiences with others and hopes you will join Miss Bee Canvas in this Zen doodle and watercolor workshop.
